The little details matter! Arriving with a clean, wrinkle-free, and well-prepped outfit ensures your clothing looks flawless on camera. Take the time to de-lint, steam, or iron your pieces, and transport them on hangers rather than crumpled in a bag. A little extra care goes a long way in making your photoshoot look polished and professional! Keep in mind: the more editing needed, the longer the turnaround time. Want your photos sooner? Ensure your outfits are crisp, clean, and camera-ready! Wrinkled items are not included in standard editing. Additional editing requested beyond standard clean-up will incur an additional fee.
VOLTAGE SERIES
Regardless of your lighting selection, lean into an outfit that feels bold, futuristic, and a little out of this world (something that matches the electric energy of the set). Think silver tones, metallic fabrics, glossy finishes, and reflective textures that catch and amplify the light. Pieces that feel galactic, edgy, or high-fashion will elevate the overall look and help your images glow.

Your outfit must be black! This creates the strongest contrast and delivers that bold, dramatic look that makes black-and-white imagery so striking.
This is your moment to think outside the box (this is not your everyday dancewear). Lean into high-fashion styling with edgy, statement pieces like leather or faux leather, structured jackets, blazers, sleek bodysuits, fashion-forward skirts or shorts, or wide-leg pants. Don’t be afraid to layer in accessories like gloves, sunglasses, hats, shoes, or anything with bold textures and dimension. The more unique and fashion-driven, the better. It’s all about creating a look that feels powerful, elevated, and editorial.
SCULPTED ACCENT LIGHTING
Brown or beige tones are highly recommended! These colours work beautifully with the lighting to create a warm, sculpted look.
Deep orange, black, or white are also great options, offering a bit of contrast while still complementing the overall tone of the set. Aim for pieces that highlight shape and structure, allowing the lighting to accentuate every line and movement.
GOBO SHADOWS
Just about anything goes! The neutral look of the white backdrop paired with muted shadows gives you flexibility when it comes to outfit choice and colour.
However, the overall feel leans moody and atmospheric, so softer, more muted tones tend to photograph best. Think blacks, beiges, creams, and whites, or any colour with a slightly toned-down, understated feel. Avoid overly bright or neon shades, as they can distract from the shadows and take away from the depth and mood of the image.
GEL SPECTRUM
Almost any colour will work, as we can adjust the lighting to complement your outfit. This gives you plenty of flexibility to get creative and choose something that reflects your style. That said, we always love white. It’s bright, photographs beautifully with every colour, and can even pick up the lighting tones, adding extra dimension to your images.
LIGHT PAINTING
Because images are captured in a much darker setting on an all-black backdrop, it’s best to avoid very dark clothing as it can get lost in the background. Opt for lighter tones or pieces with some contrast so your movement and shape stand out clearly against the darkness.
