First of all, thank you for your interest in booking with Dance by aKaiserPhoto. To date, we have only held one studio mini session event and the second one is now finally here! We've had some inquiries about the next mini session date, so we are excited to officially be announcing it!


And we are especially excited for these studio mini sessions because they will be held in our new studio!


Studio mini sessions are only held a few times a year (based on demand), so you won't want to miss out! Spots are limited, but as always, are available to all dancers from any studio. Typically we would accept dancers from outside the Sudbury area, but due to Covid-19, we ask that only local dancers register this time around. We promise to open this up again when things settle down.


We're sure you have many questions, so hopefully the information in this blog will help answer them. More information will be sent out later to those who book. But if you ever have questions, feel free to reach out to us.

Why a studio mini session?


Mini sessions are meant to be a way to get a couple of amazing photos once or twice a year at a reduced price in comparison to our other full photo packages. If you are looking for a fully personalized experience, we recommend a full studio session, but if you're looking to get frequent updated photos of your dancer (or yourself) every year over the years, the mini sessions are perfect for you!


These sessions include basic features, with the option to customize a few by choosing add-ons. This is designed so you can make it unique. When booking, you will be able to fill out a quote form that will give you all the options. Each customization can be added (for a fee) while the grand total updates as you go. That way, you can play around with the options before making your final decision. Add-ons and customizations are not required and are completely up to you.

WHAT'S INCLUDED:

  • 20min shoot time - as many poses as possible within time limit
  • 1 outfit - we will provide you with tips on planning your outfit
  • 1 backdrop colour - your choice from 5 options
  • 2 digital images of your choice selected from an online gallery - includes printing rights
  • One 8x10 print of your choice (selected at the end of your session)
  • Dance Teacher/Creative Director for entire shoot. Includes posing and technique evaluation.


ADD-ON OPTIONS:

  • Additional backdrop colour - includes additional 10min time, 1 outfit change, 1 digital image and pose
  • Additional digital image(s) - discounted price
  • Props - e.g., ladders, chairs, stools, etc.
  • Hair and makeup - unfortunately, this will not be included in the studio this time due to Covid-19 capacity restrictions



Of course, you will have the option to purchase additional images by adding them to your cart on the online gallery!

FAQS

WILL A DANCE TEACHER BE PRESENT?


Our artistic director is also a dance instructor who is knowledgeable in dance and technique. She will be there to help with posing and technique corrections as needed, as well as to help choose photos after the shoot.

Who can attend the shoot with me?


We wish you could have your whole fam-damily there with you to experience it all, and all your friends, but unfortunately we will only allow one parent in with you. This is for health and safety reasons, as well as reducing distractions. The parent will be asked to wait in the lounge area during session times.

will i be able to see some of the images during my session?


We love showing images as we shoot. It helps with confidence and shows how amazing you are without photoshop! We will have the camera tethered to a laptop which will be connect to a large screen so we can review the images for composition, posing, expression, and lighting as we go on. This helps make things go a lot faster. We don’t allow for others to view them though. We will randomly select which images we want to show you. We want to build some excitement too for the final product. Can you blame us?

my package only includes a certain amount of photos... can i buy more?


Yes, of course! Each package will have what is included on your invoice. Once your photos are done, you will be able to view them on a beautifully displayed online gallery. From there you will be able to choose (and download) the ones that are included in your package and buy more if you want. There will be a per photo cost, or a discounted "buy all" feature where you get ALL the photos for one fixed charge.

covid-19 disclaimer


A Covid-19 symptom checklist will be sent out by email to all participants 24 hours prior to the event. The form must be completed online before your photoshoot. If Dance by aKaiserPhoto does not receive your completed form, your session will be lost (no refunds). However, if the parent/guardian and/or dancer are experiencing any Covid-19 related symptoms and you let us know beforehand, we will be sure to reschedule your session.


Masks must be warn by all individuals inside the studio, with the exception of the model when being photographed. Sanitizer will be available upon entry into the studio and throughout the session as needed.
