step 1

CHOOSE YOUR LOCATION & SETTING

Open landscape or city vibes? Set the tone for your session.

Explore a variety of outdoor locations and choose the setting that fits your vision.

Your number of selections will depend on your ambassador age grouping. DAKP will select one additional location for your session.

mini ambassadors: 1 LOCATION
elite ambassadors: 2 LOCATIONS
18+ ambassadors: 1 LOCATION

step 2

PLAN YOUR OUTFITS

Your outfit is more than just clothing. It takes careful planning.

Consider your style, accessories, and how your colours will coordinate with your chosen locations.

There is no limit to outfits at your ambassador photoshoot. The more you bring, the better!

step 3

hair & makeup

Professional or self-styled, prep for camera-ready confidence.

Choose a look that enhances your features and complements your overall look, considering your backdrop and outfit choices. Come styled from head to toe.

GUIDELINES & HELPFUL INFO

Please review our policies before your session so you know exactly what to expect:

PARKING

We typically begin by meeting at the studio that way we can discuss locations and outfits. Parking at the studio is free after 6:00pm and free on weekends. We recommend using the HotSpot app for the easiest payment and time management during paid hours.

ARRIVAL TIME

Please arrive 10 minutes early. This ensures the dancer has time to stretch and connect with us before shooting begins.

ONE PARENT POLICY

To avoid crowding, only one parent is permitted. This helps maintain better focus for everyone.

WEATHER

With outdoor sessions, the only thing we can't control is the weather. The best conditions for photography are overcast skies, and we can even work through a light drizzle. As long as severe weather isn't expected, your session will go ahead as planned. If severe weather is in the forecast, we'll reach out to discuss rescheduling.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Still have some questions? We’ve gathered our most common client questions in one spot for you.

As a dance photography duo, do you have knowledge in dance?

Our artistic director, Brittany, brings years of dance experience and technical expertise to every session, helping you execute each pose to your best ability. Mike, our photographer, handles lighting and composition, while Brittany focuses on posing and technique. Over the years, we’ve learned from each other to seamlessly blend our skills and deliver the best results for our dancers. (If you want to read more about our story, click here.)

Will any images be shown throughout the photoshoot?

We love sharing images as we shoot. It's a great way to boost confidence and see your amazing work in real time. To save time and keep some surprises for the final product, we won't show every shot or pose. When the dancer is shown an image, the parent will be invited to view it as well. Rest assured, between the two of us, we ensure each image has strong composition, flattering expressions, proper posing, and your best technical execution.

Am I allowed to print my photos?

Printing rights are included with all session packages, giving you the freedom to print your images on your own at no additional charge. All files are provided in .jpg format (widely compatible) and are roughly 5-7 MB each, allowing for prints of nearly any size. If you need extra-large prints or run into any issues, just reach out. We're happy to help!

Who can I share my images with?

Your session includes personal printing rights and social media sharing for you and your family. These rights do not extend to other businesses for marketing or social media use, as stated in your contract. If a business requests your images, please send them to us for approval first.
